Who picks the tools?
Vladimirs, a software engineer who ships apps as side projects. An automated pipeline watches GitHub trending and the AI firehose daily and accumulates candidates; the filter and every verdict are human, and signed.
Can a maker pay to be featured?
No. Nobody can buy a placement — not in the tools, the reads, or the star of the week. If a sponsor slot ever appears it will be clearly labelled and separate from the picks. Featured makers do get a free badge for their README.
